How To Earn Money From Home For Free

There are four guidelines that you must follow to ensure that you aren't banned and so that you can get results, of which forums are a part, as with all advertising using any of the social media. Internet forums can be an excellent source of free website traffic generation.

Contribute To The Community

You will gain their trust and they will be more likely to visit your website or blog as a result, if you can contribute to the conversation in a way that lends value to the other forum members. Or just to chat, share information, they are looking for a place to seek knowledge. People join forums to participate in an online community of like minded individuals. The primary thing you need to remember when participating in forums is that you need to contribute something of value to the other forum users.

Don't Be Promotional In Your Forum Posts

You will likely find yourself banned for being a spammer, if you do this. Related to contributing to the community is not posting what would constitute a blatant advertisement as a forum post.

Make Sure The Forum Theme Matches Your Niche

Then don't join a dog obedience forum and make gardening related posts, for example if your niche is gardening. You want to make sure that the forum theme matches your niche, although most forums have off-topic sections where just about anything can be discussed.

Only Promote Where It is Welcome

You may get banned before you can even begin to use the forum, never post a commercial link if you are unsure whether or not it is allowed because if it isn't allowed. Send a private message to a forum moderator or administrator, if the rules are not clear or you are in any way unsure. Usually in the form of a tacked post at the top of the forum page, you can usually find this information in the forum rules. And others do not allow commercial links anywhere for any reason, some forums allow commercial links as long as they fit in with the general subject matter of the forum.

Only Promote In Your Signature

It is in your signature where you can do your hard selling and be as promotional as you like. With a call to action, you can include a link to your website or your blog, in this line. Most forums will allow you to create a "signature line" that will appear at the bottom of all of your forum posts. You can use your signature to promote your site, as long as commercial links are allowed.

Don't Post Just To get Your Signature Seen

Which is not the impression you want to make, they also make you look really stupid. Posts like these simply clutter the forum and are considered to be spam. Don't post a series of "me too" or "I agree" posts in a number of different threads, for example. Don't make useless an inane posts simply for signature exposure.

You can use forums all over the internet to get free traffic to your website, by following the four guidelines listed above.
